Revolutionizing Sales Strategy: How All American Relocation Leverages HQ Warehouse's Insights for Maximum Impact
Meet All American Relocation INC., the premier commercial moving company in the Carolinas, with over 25 years of experience as a Mayflower agent. Warehousing and distribution make up 80% of the company’s business, with primary customers including hotels, hospitals, life science, financial institutions, and other moving companies and van lines. We sat down with Darin Hall, All American’s VP of Warehousing and Logistics, who has been using HQ Warehouse for over two decades, to hear his feedback.
Capturing warehouse traffic with a mobile barcoding system
One of the key features of HQ Warehouse is the ability to scan items coming in and out of the warehouse. His warehouse team uses the tablet camera to capture barcodes directly in the mobile app or a handheld scanner based on preference. According to Hall, "the day-to-day scanning is important, and being able to track those items in the warehouse reporting is very impactful." The software's ease of use and ongoing support has made it a favorite among the team at All American. As Hall puts it, "the support I have received is phenomenal."
Self-service customer portals
Another feature that has improved communication and reduced errors is customer portals. HQ Warehouses’s customer portals allow customers to self-serve by providing them with a live view of their inventory, enabling them to browse and request items for delivery directly from their portal while receiving automated notifications regarding their items' status. Hall mentions that "allowing customers to see their inventory and create work orders directly in the portal has helped out a lot." With clients all over the East Coast, this feature allows them to access their inventory remotely and minimize the potential for wrong items being pulled. "We all get 300 emails a day, and things could easily get missed or put on the back burner," adds Hall. Allowing customers to self-serve directly in the portal prevents that.
Customized warehouse reporting
HQ Warehouse's reporting capabilities are another standout feature for All American. Reports in HQ Warehouse can be customized to meet the specific needs of the warehouse team, such as a location utilization report which shows the capacity for additional storage, receiving reports that show what came into the warehouse on a given day for specific customers, and activity reports that provide insight into inbound and outbound shipments over a date range for a customer. Darin Hall uses the occupancy report the most, which helps him get an idea of the business mix, whether household, commercial, or long-term storage, and by client type, such as hospital, restaurant, or hotel. He also uses HQ Warehouse's reports to understand what's trending, inform sales strategies, and more efficiently market to prospective customers." Creating reports is key. Being able to access information with a couple of clicks is invaluable," says Hall.
Hall takes the inventory report to the sales meeting every week. "It shows how many vaults are empty, and we talk about how we can fill them up.” Hall continues, “It lets us know if we need to offer extra free storage or other concessions to get the job and keep the revenue flowing," According to Hall, HQ Warehouse gives you “all the detail you could ever want, with reporting that is much better than other software out there.” Hall has looked into other warehousing products and found that "other platforms are limited on reports, and custom reports can be costly."
Conclusion
In conclusion, HQ Warehouse has been a game-changer for All American Relocation INC., providing the team with ease of use, phenomenal support, customer portals, and best-in-class reporting capabilities. As Hall puts it, "It's very easy to use, and HQ Warehouse does pictures better than anyone out there." With HQ Warehouse, All American can focus on what they do best: providing excellent commercial moving and warehousing services to their clients.
