Turner Moving uses MovesHQ to quickly onboard and empower the next generation of employees
Turner is the top moving and storage company in Napa Valley, CA. After 73 years in business, they've developed a reputation for providing excellent service. "75% of our business is through word of mouth and repeat customers," says Shalyn Turner, Office Manager. She credits their team for its excellent reputation.
"We really don't have turnover here," she says. Shalyn goes on to describe employees who've been there for 18+ years. But after their lead estimator retired from a 20-year tenure, they needed to bring in a new team member.

"They told me coming into this job that it would take about two years to do this by myself, but after a month of working with the tool, I was pretty smooth. Three months later, I started taking jobs on my own," says Joel LeVene, Lead Estimator. Joel was brand new to the industry when he started at Turner Moving and Storage 2.5 years ago. Younger employees expect modern technology
Like many others, Turner Moving and Storage is a family business with a lot of history. But, the team knows that simply because you're used to doing things a certain way doesn't mean you can't find areas to improve. As many of the moving industry veterans begin to retire, the next generation of employees expects digital tools to perform their job to the best of their ability. "I couldn't imagine handwriting estimates at this point," Joel says. "I wouldn't even know how someone would keep their files organized and their estimates accurate."
